Terms of Use: Individual Licence

In summary:

The Initial EAL workbook is a downloadable password-protected PDF document. It is ideally intended for use by teachers of entry-level students (pre-beginner/ beginner/literacy) with minimal to no formal education. These materials have been carefully scaffolded and sequenced for use in the classroom or for individual students working with an English language tutor, rather than as a self-study resource.

If the PDF workbook has an Individual Licence, it can be used by one teacher, who can share the contents of the PDF workbook with their own current students for learning purposes. The PDF workbook cannot be re-sold. The PDF workbook cannot be uploaded to a public web page. Read the full Terms of Use below.

These Terms of Use apply to any resource that has an Individual Licence:

Definitions

‘the PDF workbook’ = The Initial EAL Workbook with an Individual Licence

‘author’ = The author of the PDF workbook (Assunta Crupi-Pogliano)

‘licensee’ = Any person who has purchased an Individual Licence to use the PDF workbook

Copyright Information

The Initial EAL Workbook is the intellectual property of the author,

Assunta Crupi-Pogliano, and is protected by copyright law. The Terms of Use give the licensee some additional permissions that are not usually included in copyright law. The Terms of Use specify in which situations these additional permissions apply. For any situations that are not mentioned in the Terms of Use, standard copyright law applies.

Terms of Use (for the Individual Licence)

1. The Initial EAL Workbook (PDF workbook with an Individual Licence) is intended for use by one teacher with their own current students. If the licensee is not a teacher (for example, a student who is studying with a tutor), the same licence and the same terms of use apply. The Individual Licence is not suitable for multiple teachers sharing the same licence. If more than one teacher within an organisation is using the PDF workbook, a School and Organisation Site Licence is required. If you believe you have purchased the incorrect licence, contact the author so that the proper licence can be arranged.

2. The invoice is proof of the transaction and proof that the licensee has agreed to the Terms of Use.

3. The PDF workbook’s licence is not transferrable to any other person.

4. The PDF workbook can only be used by the licensee. If the licensee is a teacher, they may share any part of the PDF workbook with their own current students for learning purposes. If the licensee is a student, they may share any part of the PDF workbook with their current teacher for learning purposes. Allowable forms of ‘sharing’ include printing, photocopying, displaying on a screen, sending via email, or uploading to a password-protected content management system that is only accessible to the licensee (teacher) and their students. The licensee cannot share any part of the PDF workbook with anyone else besides their own current students (or their own current teacher if they are a student). When sharing any part of the PDF workbook, the licensee must inform others that they cannot share the contents of the PDF workbook. No part of the PDF workbook can be uploaded to a publicly accessible web page.

5. The licensee must take all care to ensure that the PDF workbook is not shared beyond their own teacher/student group. If the PDF workbook is illegally uploaded to a publicly accessible web page, the author will be able to trace it back to the original licensee. Legal action will be taken against anyone who participates in intentional, unauthorised sharing on a significant scale.

6. The PDF workbook (or any part of it) cannot be sold to anyone else, either in printed form or digital form.

7. The images in the PDF workbook have been purchased as part of a professional licence by the author. The licensee does not have the right to re-use any images from the PDF workbook for other purposes, unless they have legally obtained the right to use the image from the image owner or from the stock image distributor.

8. The PDF workbook’s licence does not have an expiry date. It does not require any renewals.

9. Once the PDF workbook is sent to the licensee or downloaded by the licensee, no refund can be provided. Sample pages and videos are available on the website for potential buyers to assess the suitability of the PDF workbook before purchase.

10. While all the above copyright terms apply, the author has chosen to waive the usual 10% copyright restriction on photocopying. You may photocopy as many worksheets from The Initial EAL Workbook for use with your current students.

11. Removal of password protection is not permitted by the licensee.

12. The author may terminate the licence if the licensee infringes these Terms of Use.
